In this instance we used the honed and filled Medium Travertine as the pool surround. It was also used to create 30 mm thick coping stones. Due to this being a deck level pool the internal pool tiles needed to be tiled directly into the base of the coping, with no overhang. To achieve this the copings were simply given a pencil edge, or a half bull nose, to take off the sawn top edge of the slab. It was then honed a filled to match the top of the coping and the surrounding tiles. The pool mosaics could then be fitted directly off the bottom of the coping stones.
